Safety Reminder Announcement

Now that real build season is in full swing we need to re-emphasize safety protocols. Safety glasses must be worn; proper tool use is critical, etc. Everyone should know where the fire extinguisher and first aid kit are located.

Three Darwin Awards have already been issued in the pre-season (with Andy ‘three fingers’ B being the hands-down winner!!) Fortunately no one was actually hurt. "Fortunately" is not good enough. We need to keep this down near ZERO during build season. Unfortunately Craig ‘no fingers’ H. currently has the award (from the 1/16 meeting). Your job is to let him keep it! Again, there was no actual injury and the incident was not robot/build related but it really made me cringe. Please stay aware and do not hesitate to speak up if you see something that's even remotely unsafe. Anirugh and Carly volunteered to be safety captions, but everyone in the lab needs to think of themselves as a safety captain...
