Team 2590 traveled to Montgomery High School where Team 1403, Cougar Robotics hosted this year's kickoff. This year’s competition, Breakaway was announced. During the game, teams will attempt to score points by shooting soccer balls into goals and by suspending their robots from a tower on the playing field.
Micheal Reffler, Mentor Team 1089, and others noted that this year’s challenge combines elements from previous games (e.g. shooting balls at vision targets, suspending the robot, etc). Hint: We can/should/need to look for design inspiration from veteran teams as they have created most of mechanisms our robot might benefit from this year.
